You Are Beautiful!
Psalm 139:13–14 - You are Beautiful!
I feel God wants each woman here today to know how beautiful she is. Just three words…You Are Beautiful! You are Beautiful! Did you know that for every negative thing we hear, we need more positives to counterbalance the one single negative? Psychologists have suggested that for the single negative word a person needs 7-9 positives to counterbalance the effect! That is why it is so important to fill up on God’s promises. God’s Word is the truth. We need to know His Word and be able to recall His words in an instant.
Unfortunately, not many women know full well that they are a wonderful work of God’s hand. If we did know that we would live differently. We would feel different about ourselves, our futures, and our lives. Sadly, we get trapped in the same way unbelievers might get trapped- in our pasts, in our inadequacies, and especially in looking only at appearances and achievements. These are some of the things that drag us down and keep us from experiencing God the way we would like to. We most definitely need to have our minds renewed.
In the lowest point of my life a lovely Christian friend advised me to read Psalm139 out loud every morning. Every day I was reminding myself who my maker was, how He was watching over me, and the fact that He had fashioned my days and ordained them. All day I was filled with thoughts about the wonder of God and how His Word was healing me and lifting me up to places where I never thought I would be able to go again. God’s Word truly can heal us from broken hearts. His Word is powerful in meeting our every need.
These two particular verses from Psalm 139:13 and 14 have always meant a great deal to me as I never used to think that I was “fearfully and wonderfully made.” When I was a teenager and a young woman I was crippled with insecurities, feelings of low self worth and felt that I would never amount to anything.
However through my Christian faith I have discovered who I am. Through Psalm 139 my mind was renewed by the truth of God’s Word. When a woman knows the truth, she is set free to live a different life – a life designed for her by God.
Oswald Chambers says this “All of God’s people are ordinary people who have been made extraordinary by the purpose He has given them. We need to be reminded that we have been created by God for God and that is exactly what Colossians 1:16 says “All things were created by him and for him”.
It’s easy to forget where our true roots are. “In the beginning God created…….” Many of us grew up relating our beginnings to two love-struck people we learned to call our parents. Some of us grew up relating our beginnings to a mistake or an accident by two people who didn’t really welcome our arrival into the world. We have forgotten that even though it takes two people to perform the physical act that can lead to pregnancy, only God can create the miracle of life within the womb. God does not create mistakes. Your life is a miracle of God’s design. Let us stop for a moment to recognise the promise and miracle of our lives. We are going to rejoice in the day that God created each and every one of us right now.
Move around and comment on how beautiful each woman is, here today. How magnificent she is! How unique she is! That she is a masterpiece created by her heavenly father!

Who represents God in this film?
Will went through an amazing journey from a place where he was hated, feared, abused and dependant. However once he began to trust the showman or God he began to see his true worth, his magnificence and was able to find love and friendship and a place of new worth in his new home and family.
Each and every one of us was created by God for God. And for us to truly begin to understand that we are daughters of the King of Kings and are therefore unique, beautiful and a masterpiece we need to understand that there are four truths within Psalm 139 that can teach us to build a foundation of stability and peace. That Gods knows me/you
He created me/you
He protects me/you
He values me/you
That there are four beliefs that simplify a Woman’s life from Col 1:16 and Matthew 22:37-40
I have been created by God
I have been created for God
I have been created to love God
I have been created to love others.
Now I would like you to pray over each other in twos the truth of psalm 139 v13 and 13 using each other’s names. For when we speak out God’s Truth we speak in power, in spirit and in truth.
